Before you visit

The Scottish Parliament at Holyrood sits at the foot of the Royal Mile, opposite the Palace of Holyroodhouse. It is free to visit, open Monday to Saturday, and you do not need to book to explore the public areas. You can take in the exhibition, join a guided tour, watch a debate or committee from the public gallery, or meet your MSP. The building was designed with access in mind and the team behind it keep that promise daily: level access throughout, hearing loops across the public areas, a Changing Places toilet, staff trained in autism awareness, and BSL support for visits and business. Share your access preferences before you arrive and the Visitor Services team will be ready for you, whichever of those visits you are making.
